The air pressure in your tires is affected by temperature, road conditions, and driving speed. Relying on sight inspection alone is not an accurate way to measure tire pressure. Tires may be significantly under or over-inflated, yet you may not be able to tell just by looking at them. Using the cumbersome hand-held tire gauges can be inconvenient and inaccurate, and you lose air every time you check your tires.

NOTE: After the sensors are installed in each tire. If the sensors do not pick up the RF signal at first, you can do the following: Adjust the sensor valve stem with a valve stem tool (every tire/wheel installation business wil have one). Slowly tighten clock wise to make sure the valve stem is tightened securely. The tire install technician usually takes the valve stem assembly out when sensors are secured on the wheel and then fill up the deflated tire to proper tire pressure faster. Sometimes they do not tighten properly when installing the valve stem back after inflating. After adusting the valve stem...they may need to drive around for a while until the monitoring cycle completes (each tire has a tire pressure monitoring cycle of approximately 15 seconds or so in a clockwise rotation before each RF signal is picked up by the display monitor.
